It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we the family of Jaime Jaramillo, loving husband of Irma and beloved father of Veronica and Jorge, announce his peaceful passing on Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, at the age of 53 years. Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife, Irma; daughter, Veronica (Mark); and son, Jorge. Jaime’s memory will also be cherished by his 2 brothers, Efrain and Fernando (Monica) both of Edmonton; sister, Rocio of Colombia as well as many family and friends in Edmonton and Colombia. Jaime was predeceased by his parents, Efrain and Fanny as well by his brother, Guillermo. Jaime was a truly kind and generous person, who touched many people. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. We will cherish his memory forever. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation which will be held on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010 at First Memorial, Harmony Chapel, 10541-81 Ave. Edmonton, AB. between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 3rd, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, 11310 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton, AB., with Father Augusto Garcia PSS, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Tributes in Jaime’s name may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Ave. Edmonton, AB. T6G 1Z2. Condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. In living memory of Jaime Leon Jaramillo, a tree will be planted in the Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium Memorial Tree Park in the Red Deer County, AB. Alberta Soccer will be hosting three fitness tests throughout May for all interested Referees in the Calgary area. There will also be two test dates available in June, these dates will only be available to those who attempted the test in May and were unsuccessful.
Fitness Tests:
May 8, 10:00 - 12:00, Rotary Challenger Park (May 1 postponed due to track conditions)
May 15, 11:00 - 1:00, Mount Royal College - part of AMSL Pre-Season Camp
May 26, 19:00 - 21:00, Rotary Challenger Park
June 12, 10:00 - 12:00, Rotary Challenger Park (re-tests only)
June 23, 19:00 - 21:00, Rotary Challenger Park (re-tests only)
Alberta Soccer will also be hosting an AMSL Pre-Season Camp on May 15 and 16 at Mount Royal College. The camp will include the following elements:
- Introduction/Refresher to the details of the league
- Description of scheduling procedures
- Description of the AMSL Assessment Program
- Expectations, policies, etc.
- Fitness Test
- Additional Instruction to be determined (from Futuro), including on-field sessions.

The 2009-2010 ASA Rules of Indoor Soccer have been revised. Please make yourself familiar before the season gets underway.
The Referee Outdoor Refresher Course is online this year. Please complete the online exam before going to your refresher course. Marks will be available at the course.
