Alberta Soccer is thrilled to announce the launch of the new CONCACAF C-Diploma education pathway, an exciting development for coaching education in Alberta. The C-Diploma is designed to enhance coaches’ abilities to meet the demands of coaching grassroots soccer. It serves as the initial stage of the Advanced Coach Education Pathway and targets ambitious coaches in Alberta while fulfilling the requirement for Assistant Coaches in the Alberta Player Development League (APDL) and League 1 Alberta.
About the CONCACAF C-Diploma:
- Entry-Level Course: The CONCACAF C-Diploma is the foundational course for the Advanced Coach Education pathway, preparing coaches for progression to the Specialist or Professional Streams (B-Diploma, A-Diploma).
- Comprehensive Learning: The hybrid course combines synchronous e-learning sessions with in-person workshops. Coaches will engage in over 75 hours of learning and practical application, significantly more than the previous National C-Licence.
- Coach Developer Support: Each coach will be supported by Alberta Soccer Coach Developers and assigned tasks to complete throughout the course, ensuring a high standard of competence.
Transition from National C-Licence: As National C-Licence courses are no longer offered, the new CONCACAF C-Diploma will be available starting Fall 2024. The new diploma costs $2,000, it provides enhanced value through increased instructional hours and comprehensive support, far exceeding the benefits of the old C-Licence.
Benefits of the CONCACAF C-Diploma:
- Enhanced Training: More than 75 hours of learning opportunities designed to develop a deep understanding of the coaching process.
- Flexible Learning Environment: A blend of online and in-person sessions tailored to meet the needs of modern coaches.
- Year-Round Support: Continuous support from Coach Developers to help each coach achieve their best outcome.
