The 2019 Western Canada Summer Games (WCSG) will take place in Swift Current, Saskatchewan from August 8-18.

Alberta Soccer will send one male and one female team to compete in the WCSG. Leading up to the games, Alberta Soccer Technical Staff and Coaches will begin scouting players, focusing on 2003/04-born players (and exceptional 2005-born players).

Player selection will be done on the basis of club and district technical leaders’ recommendations and Alberta Soccer Staff and Coach scouting efforts.

  • May 24-26, 2019 – Evaluations in Red Deer (Invited players only)
  • July 6, 2019 – WCSG Staging Event in Sherwood Park (Selected players only)
  • August 4-8, 2019 – WCSG Training Camp (Selected players only)
  • August 8-18, 2019 – WCSG in Swift Current, Saskatchewan (Selected players only)

The Western Canada Summer Games were officially launched in Regina, August 1975..

The Western Canada Summer Games are intended to provide development opportunities for amateur athletes and to help them advance their skills in a competitive, but friendly environment. The Games also serve to broaden the exposure of talented athletes and provide a training ground for national and international level competitions. Social and cultural elements round out the sporting events for athletes.
