(June 8, 2018) Alberta Soccer’s Grassroots team is excited to once again open registration for its Fall Mini Stars Program. This year’s outdoor program is expanding from Edmonton and Calgary to also include Red Deer in Central Alberta.

Mini Stars is a fun, Introduction to Excellence Program – providing players in the Learning to Train stage of player development with an atmosphere that embraces mistakes as part of a successful soccer journey! For many of the Mini Stars, the hope is that this journey leads to a Provincial level of play and beyond.

A parent of a past Mini Stars participant had this to say of the program, “It was an invaluable opportunity for my daughter to meet and play with players from other teams and clubs in a supportive and encouraging environment. She made a lot of friends and so when she plays against them in league games, they are friendly rivals rather than opponents. This is something she can’t get anywhere else. Thank you for making this possible for her.”

Registration, which is open to all players born in 2007, 2008, and 2009, costs $100 per child and includes a t-shirt. In past years, space filled up in a matter of minutes – a testament to the passion for soccer in our Province as well as to the quality of the program. Stay tuned here for the link to register!
