With the growth of the Alberta Player Development League (previously AYSL) and the beginning of League1 Alberta, Alberta now has a competitive pathway to support the long-term development of players in the province. In collaboration with Canada Soccer, Alberta Soccer is developing a High-Performance program for the province’s high-potential female players aged 15-18. This program will be licensed by Canada Soccer, which will be recognized by specific standards expected for national high-performance programs nationwide.

In anticipation of an April launch, we are opening applications for coaches to be a part of this High-Performance Program. For more information regarding requirements and application process, please click here.

As we grow the competitive games programs in Alberta, we want to ensure that talented female players in our province have a place to play in Alberta and can participate in a nationally recognized program where the technical staff from Canada Soccer can identify, monitor and select plays from. Alberta Soccer is requesting player recommendations from club technical leads as well as opening a self-nomination process, allowing players to submit footage of a thirty-minute video from one single game (preferably an outdoor game, but an indoor game video will be reviewed). Highlight reels won’t be accepted as a submission. For details, please click here.

With a new program like this, there will be a lot of questions. We want to invite you to one of the following meetings relevant to you. Please see the links for the virtual information sessions regarding the High-Performance Development Center:
